According to reports this morning at least two people have been badly injured after an explosion occurred in the centre of the Hungarian capital city of Budapest.
It is understood the explosion occurred just shortly after 11pm local time, a number of eyewitnesses have reported several casualties.
Local media reports say two of the victims are reported to be police officers and have been rushed to a hospital, the extent of there injuries are not yet known.
Initial Police reports have claimed the explosion was caused by a gas leak on the ground floor of a shop. However the exact cause is not yet confirmed.
