Shocking footage which has appeared on social media showing a vulnerable homeless man being attacked by Dublin GAA fan has been condemned by the public and homeless advocacy groups alike.

The shocking footage which was recorded shortly after Dublin’s win over Tyrone in the All Ireland Football Final has now led for calls for the disgraceful attack to be investigated by Gardai.

In the shocking footage which occurred on Parnell Street at approximatley 6pm on Sunday, a Dublin fan can be seen shouting verbal abuse at the defenceless homeless man before he kicks him as he lay on the ground, before he disgracefully decides to kick him in the head.

Although the thug who carried out the sickening attack is led away by concerned fans, the ruthless individual is seen trying to get another shot at the homeless man who is trying his best to avoid the blows.

The shocking footage which has been viewed over 200,000 times on Facebook was uploaded by fellow fan Patrick Paget, who posted the following caption: ‘Had a great day working in crocker… Dublin taking home the Sam four times in a row… Only to be walking home and see this on our streets #terrible #horrible#scumshouldbeashamed’.

It has also been condemned by the public who have described the unprovoked attack as a disgrace and a cowardly act.

Meanwhile Anthony Flynn who works with Inner City Helping Homeless also described the attack as a disgrace and has called for an investigation and for the individual involved to be identified,

Mr Flynn said: “This an absolute shocking incident. This person must be held accountable for what seems to be an mindless attack on a vulnerable person. This needs to be shared far & wide, let’s identify this person!’
