Residents in Dublin community are being advised to be on the lookout for bogus door to door scams in the area.
The warning comes after a number residents in Knocklyon, south Dublin, have taken to social media to voice their concerns after an they subjected to “aggressive” verbal abuse from a number of people claiming to be working for charity organisations.
A number of residents have taken to Facebook to explain that they were subjected to abuse from a young lady who knocked at their door claiming to be representing a women’s refuge.
However Gardaí who have been alerted about the bogus callers have said people should not give any personal information to anyone who calls to the door as charities do not send representatives to call to people’s homes, they also say if anyone is suspicious of any such behaviour they should alert the Gardaí immediately.
