The countries first supervised drug injection centre for recovering addicts is step closer after legislation has been passed in the Dáil.
The new centre which has drawn criticism from many will reportedly open its doors in the coming ahead after completing the first hurdle in the Dáil.
Although it still has to go to committee and other stages, minister’s are confident the centre will be provided without complications.
It is understood the new centre will allow recovering drug users to self-administer with sterile injecting equipment, under the guidance of medical professional.
