An 82-year-old pensioner was hit by a car in Kilcrohane, Co. Cork, at around 8pm yesterday evening. The man was taken to Cork University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly before midnight.
The road is currently closed for a technical examination and Gardai in Bantry are appealing for witnesses.
