Taoiseach and Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny has confirmed his intentions to run in the next general election.
Mr Kenny who previously said he had no desire to lead Fine Gael into the next General Election has seemingly performed an u-turn, saying he has a number of issues he wants to fulfil before he steps down.
The Taoiseach’s announcement comes after he recently met with his constituency colleagues in Co Mayo, were informed them that he would be running again.
Although the news has come as no big surprise to his party colleagues who support his decision, they did however state that Mr Kenny must inform them when he intends to step aside.
