The French government are preparing for extreme violence with some government officials fearing an attempted coup as almost 90,000 police are deployed ahead of Saturday’s Yellow Vest protests.

RT now there are unconfirmed reports that the French army will be deployed to Paris in case the protest devolves into a genuine rebellion.

French Prime Minister Édouard Philippe has confirmed that a dozen armoured vehicles will also be deployed across the French capital and that violence will be suppressed with “exceptional means.”

These renewed protests come as the French government pledged to halt any tax increases on fuel. The tax hike designed to fight global warming provoked the initial protests, but they have now evolved into a much larger movement.

Protesters now want President Macron, who approval rating is at a record low of 23%, to resign and a roll back of pro-EU policies coupled with tax reform for major corporations and a five year halt to any new taxes or increases.
