There was further tragedy on Irish roads over the past 24 hours after tr body of an elderly woman was found in her car in Co Roscommon.
It is understood the woman was found inside her car which crashed into a ditch on Thursday.
Gardaí say the woman was found after a search was carried out after she was reported missing on Thursday afternoon.
She was found at approximately 12.45pm today close to Castleplunket.
The woman’s body has since been transferred to University Hospital Galway where a post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out.
