Gardaí in Co Longford have confirmed they have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with a fatal stabbing in Longford Town yesterday morning.
Gardaí say the young man was yesterday evening and is currently being held at Longford Garda Station.
The man’s arrest comes after another man believed to be in his 30s was stabbed to death, in the area of Great Water Street in the town at approximately 11.50am yesterday morning.
