Gardaí seize 22 pups and pregnant dog from Store Street at Dublin Port

Gardaí have confirmed that 22 pups and a pregnant dog were seized from Store Street at Dublin Port this morning.

Gardaí say the pups are now in the care of the Dublin Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (DSPCA). It is understood the pups were travelling in a Ford Transit van with two men, which was destined for the UK.

It is believed the pups were not microchipped, and did not have the required pet passports.

Meanwhile the DSPCA said the puppies appear to be aged between eight and 10 weeks old and are of a number of different mixed breeds. They are currently undergoing veterinary care.
