Goodwill Barber: Barber who overcame addiction tells his story of how he spends his day off giving haircuts to homeless people

In a truly remarkable story a 26-year old barber has received great praise for his efforts after he overcame his battle with addiction and turned to helping the homeless.

The barber named Nasir Sobhani living Melbourne, Australia has received worldwide recognition after his story on how he spends his only day off each week cutting the hair of the city’s homeless. The barber’s recent goodwill comes as part of his new initiative ‘Clean Cut, Clean Start’. Mr Sobhani told reporters: “I remember the days of when I used to just hate myself, and not even look in the mirror without crying because I would just be so disgusted at who I was.” “I find that embedded within a lot of my street clients. They feel so ashamed of who they are.”

The generous baber also believes his amazing initiative is giving people their dignity back, as well as providing them with much-needed human interaction. Mr Sobhani says, “The simple act of being treated to a haircut makes a huge difference to them, and can even encourage them to feel hopeful again.”
