A new centre for Special Olympics Ireland will be officially opened by Minister of State for Tourism and Sport Patrick O’Donovan later today.
The headquarters will be located at the National Sports Campus in Abbotstown, Dublin. The campus is a renowned sporting ground for various organisations.
CEO of Sport Ireland John Treacy, says it’s fantastic for Special Olympics Ireland: “They won’t be paying rent anymore which is good news.
“They can put their money into the development of the sports around the country and they are also on the campus with all the other governing bodies of sport and there is real cooperation they have all the services on the campus.
“So it is the right place to be if you are a sporting organisation without a shadow of a doubt.”
