Twelve people are now confirmed dead after a deadly blaze that engulfed the Grenfell Tower building in London last night.
The alarm was raised at around 1.30am. Over 200 firefighters battled the inferno for hours until they managed to bring it under control. The building was completely destroyed.
In addition to the fatalities, 68 people were injured, 18 of them critically.
The cause of the fire is not yet known. Local associations had voiced their concerns in recent times about the building’s apparent fire hazards.
