A grateful mum whose three year old son was rescued from the River Lee last week has set up a Gofundme page for the brave Cork woman who saved her little boy.
The grateful and emotional mum Adrianna Watters, who is the mother of Caleb Watters, told reporters she decided setup the account to pay back Maria Foley for her courage and bravery. The devoted mum also said Maria is a “true hero and our guardian angel.”
The page which is a week old has already raised €3,000 from the public who have dug deep to thank Ms Foley for her heroics. Meanwhile Caleb’s brother Felan has also got in on the act by organising a non-uniform day at his school St Luke’s National School next Tuesday to raise money for the cause.
Adrianna added: “The money is for Maria and her family as a thank you and recognition for her selfless act of bravery. It’s the least we can do.”
