A mother in the US has been jailed for 15 years for horrific cruelty after she scalded her adoptive 5-year-old daughter so badly she lost her toes.

The horrific abuse which occurred in Tuscon, Arizona, in December 2016, has led to prosecutors to convict 30-year-old Samantha Osteraas to 15 years behind bars.

According to reports in the US, the little girl was burnt so badly that she will require surgeries for the rest of her life.

It is believed that the little girl sustained third degree burns to her 70% of her body from her chest to her toes after her vicious mother held in a boiling hot bath of water.

The conviction of Osteraas ultimately came after the little girl named as Madison told the court that her adoptive mother held her in the scalding not bath with a pink towel.

Osteraas who is also a mother of three was convicted after doctors dismissed her claims that little Madison caused her injuries herself.

The vindictive mother who has now lost all of her children and is currently in the process of divorce is said to have caused horrific cruelty and was neglectful of Madison’s injuries as she failed to bring the little girl to hospital immediately after the incident.

Although the convicted mother has since apologised and confessed to inflicting her daughter’s injuries, it is believed that she was the victim of abuse whilst in foster care as a child.

Madison who was in foster care for five years will now require life long treatment in order to address repeat scarring caused by the burns.
