In a truly heartbreaking and horrifying story a newborn baby was discovered inside a rubbish bag which was dumped on a quiet street over the weekend.
The heartbreaking story which occurred in the Phra Phutthabat district of Sarburi, Thailand, has now led to police authorities to launch a investigation in order to track down the boys mother.
According to Thai state media the baby boy who was just a few hours old was found by passing motorist who heard loud cries emanating from the vicinity of a near by rubbish tip.
Police investigating the incident say the baby boy was found wrapped up inside the bag with his umbilical cord still attached.
They also say the baby boy who weighed just 5.9lbs was quickly rushed to hospital after a member of the public alerted emergency services.
Although it is believed the baby is on the mend, police say they are concerned for the boy’s mother who has not been found since the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Investigating officers say they believe the baby’s mother is young woman given the nature of the case, they also say they believe the young baby was abandoned after his mother panicked after giving birth to him.
Speaking about the case one officer revealed that they are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding areas, they added a young woman was captured on the footage leaving the scene close to were the newborn was abandoned.
They also say they believe the mother’s actions were done out of fear as she appeared relatively young, although they are still trying to track her down they did say they hoped that the baby will be placed in appropriate foster home when he fully recovers.
