It has been reported that management at the much hated utility Irish Water are currently drawing up plans that would allow them to install meter’s in apartments from next year.
Management say there is currently a pilot scheme underway to see how they can be installed. The company say they hope to have a system introduced by the end of 2016, and any possible changes to how water consumption is measured would take place after that.
The company say the decision comes after research showet that those living in apartments are at a disadvantage as their water use is not measured, making them unable to avail of any possible discount from underuse.
