Gardaí have confirmed that a man aged in his 50s has been arrested in connection with an attack in Co Roscommon last month.

The 54-year-old man was arrested in Co Mayo and is being questioned by gardai.

The arrest comes after eight security men, hired in connection to KBC bank repossession of a home in Roscommon, were injured in an attack which occurred in Falsk, Strokestown, on December 16th.

It is believed that a group of men armed with baseball bats attacked security personnel occupying the home after a family were evicted by KBC Bank.
