North Dublin is to be patrolled by armed gardai following three shootings within five days

There have been three separate shooting incidents within five days in Ballymun.

Two attacks occurred at the weekend, one entailed a house being shot at last Monday.

The latest attack occurred on Saturday, last weekend at Gallaun Road, Ballymun. A black Audi was shot at a number of times by a handgun.

The incident was said to have occurred after a fight broke out at house party.

Gardai have since seized the vehicle. On Friday that same weekend a house in the Owensilla estate in Ballymun.

The front door was damaged by a rally of shots with a shotgun attack. Gardai were called by emergency call.

Two men were observed escaping by motorbike from the Owensilla estate shortly after the incident.

A male from Ballymun was arrested and has since been released without charge after yet another house was shot at, last Monday. This shooting occurred in Balcurris Park.

No one was harmed in any of these shootings but gardai are extremely concerned for locals’ safety.
