Over 1,500 expected to attend memorial service to honour Grenfell Tower victims

Over 1,500 people are expected to attend a memorial service in London later today to honour those killed in last summer’s Grenfell Fire disaster.

The deadly fire which occurred on the 14th of June tragically took the lives of 71 people and left hundreds homeless and searching for accommodation.

In what will be a moving service at St Paul’s Cathedral survivors along with relatives of those killed in the tower block fire are expected to pay tribute to those who sadly lost their lives in the 24 storey apartment complex. 

Amongst expected to attend include members of the British Royal family, British Prime Minister Theresa May, Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn and the city’s mayor Sadiq Khan.

The ceremony will also see a number of musical performances along with a number of floral tributes.

It is expected the service will get underway at 11am this morning were a minute’s silence will also be held.
