Actor Robert Carrickford has sadly died today at the age of 88.
The Dubliner was best known for his well known role as Stephen Brennan in the nationally beloved RTE soap Glenroe.
Often seen strolling through Sandymount green during his retirement, Carrickford had been ill for some time before passing away.
He is survived by his wife Mary, a daughter and two grandchildren.
