The National Lottery has warned the public about a text scam that appears to show people winning a hefty sum in the Lotto.
Some people have received a text message that reads: “You have been selected to win €1000 in the Irish Euro Lottery! (second round) Click here to win! Hurry, access is limited”
The text includes a link, which presumably leads to a fraudulent site – people are advised NOT to click on the link.
National Lottery has confirmed that this text is not legitimate. People are advised to ignore or delete this message.
