Scandalous: Families living in emergency accommodation told to leave and come back after Christmas

The plight of the homeless becomes that little bit darker today, as many families living in hotels and B&Bs across the country will likely face eviction right before Christmas.

It is understood that hospitality establishments may be fully booked at inflated prices, or closed for the festive period, leaving no room for those who have fallen on hard times. Families have been told to ‘come back’ in January.

Official figures put the homeless at 10,000, a historic high, with little or no sign of improvement in the short term.
