An ongoing protest in support of Greece’s financial plight has prompted the closure of Kildare St. to traffic this afternoon, after a group of protesters staged a sit-down action.
Gardai had to intervene to clear a path into Leinster House for former minister Alan Shatter, due to a number of protesters surrounding his vehicle.
A larger protest against water charges and in support of Greece’s current financial issues is expected to take place over the coming hours.
