Spain opened its doors to another 458 migrants yesterday, after nine boats were sent out to the Strait of Gibraltar and the Alboran Sea, as they tried to cross the Mediterranean.
The Spanish coastguard confirmed the mission on Twitter.
A Spanish native on social media spoke to The Liberal and speculated as to why only 13 of the 458 people on board were children.
Spain has now overtaken Italy as a destination for migration with close to 23,000 people already arrived by sea this year alone.
