Storm Brian is expected to bring winds as strong as the devastating Hurricane Ophelia at the beginning of the week.
Counties Mayo, Galway, Clare, Kerry, Cork, Waterford and Wexford may experience wind speeds of up to 130km/h tonight and over the weekend.
Several warnings remain in place, as severe weather is expected nationwide.
