Met Eireann has warned that the tail end of Hurricane Oscar is likely to cause gale-force winds and torrential rain by the end of the week.
Coastal regions of the west and northwest of the country are likely to bear the brunt of the weather front, with strong winds predicted towards Friday evening and into Saturday morning.
Temperature wise, the weekend is expected to be somewhat milder than recent days, with temperatures reaching 11-12C at times.
