A Garda investigation is underway after a woman was subjected to horrifying ordeal during a robbery at Malahide Castle on Monday.
According to The Irish Mirror newspaper, the woman aged in her 40s sustained bad bruising to her arm after she was dragged for more than 30 yards by a car during a mugging.
The Mirror say the woman sustained the injuries after her handbag snagged on her after ruthless thieves tried to snatch it from her shoulder.
Although thankfully the woman did not sustain any life threatening injuries during the terrifying incident, Gardai say she was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment on her arm and for shock.
It is understood the incident occurred at approximately 5:30pm on Monday evening on the grounds of the castle.
Gardai say the theives fled the scene immediately following the incident. They added an investigation is currently ongoing.
