Tesco employee sues supermarket chain after a work colleague allegedly ‘FARTED’ in his face

A Tesco employee in South London, has taken the supermarket giant to court in the hope of receiving damages after a co-worker allegedly farted in his face.

According to Metro.co.uk, the bizarre case has come about after the employee Atif Masood, 42, claimed that the incident amounted to bullying and that the supermarket chain failed to review the allegation appropriately.

It is believed that Mr Masood is seeking £20,000 in damages claiming that he has suffered racial discrimination and harassment at his place of work in Thornton Heath, in South London.

Metro also say Mr Masood was targeted by fellow co-workers because he is Muslim.

The upset employee who has worked at the store since 2006 also claimed that he has received inappropriate text messages which contained racist and derogatory comments.

Although Tesco have reviewed Mr Masood’s complaint they have decided to dispute the claim despite the CCTV footage backing Mr Masood’s complaints.

It is expected that a hearing will take place next year to decide the outcome of the case.
