Mrs Brown’s boys star Brendan O’Carroll has launched a scathing attack on the BBC after it was alleged that three of the shows stars were part of a group that invested in a private fund in order to avoid paying taxes.

O’Carroll who has been the star of the show since it began on the station back in 2011 said the recent claims were completely false and they were nothing more than a blatant attempt to tarnish the show and it’s stars.

According to The Sun Newspaper O’Carroll who has not been accessed of being part of the scandal, said the BBC and Producers of its Panorama programme should be ashamed as their accusations have clearly upset his daughter and the shows stars.

The comedian who wrote a scathing letter to the organisation accused producers of the current affairs programme Panorama of harassing his daughter Fiona Delany who has become embroiled in the scandal which has been the subject of widespread scrutiny in the UK in recent days.

In the letter Mr O’Carroll stated that neither his daughter or her husband Martin Delany or Paddy Houlihan did anything wrong and the show’s naming of the trio in their investigation was a blatant attempt to tarnish their reputations.

The Irish born star revealed that the shows producers relentlessly harassed his daughter Fiona regarding her involvement in the scheme which has seen countless celebrities and corporations identified.

O’Carroll also claimed that Panorama producers approached his daughter on more than one occasion without her knowledge to discuss her financial affairs .

He went on to state that his daughter had no idea why she was being questioned about her salary and her tax dealings and was left extremely upset after they followed her and confronted her on a busy street to answer questions which she had no clue as to what they related to.

The star who is well known for his charitable contributions in recent years spoke of how his daughter was that upset by the investigation and how he was left to console her on a number of occasions.

However Mr O’Carroll’s has said he has no intention in taking the corporation to court as happy to get back to work but he did state that those angry about the fiasco should be mad at the politicians who allow the loopholes to exist in the first place.
