There is bad news for thousands of gardaí and second level teachers today as they will have financial penalties imposed on them by the Government.
The imposed penalties come after both the Teachers Union and the Garda Representative Association failed to agree to conditions outlined in the Lansdowne Road Agreement.
It is understood that Secondary School teachers will be the first to be hit by the sanctions known as Fempi, which allows the Government to impose financial penalties if any party refuses to agree on certain terms regarding public sector pay.
