Two people stabbed at Galway courthouse

Two people were stabbed at Galway court house this morning in connection with a family feud in the city.

The incident occured at around 10:50am at Galway District Court when the two men were stabbed in the back and arm.

One of them was arrested outside the courthouse following the incident before they were both taken to Galway University Hospital for their injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

It is understood that the men were not due to appear before the court but were there supporting family members. The incident is believed to be linked to an ongoing family feud in the city.

Cleaning staff were called to the courthouse where traces of blood could be seen inside the front door of the building where the incident occurred. Cases at the court continued this morning and the building was not evacuated as a result of the incident.
