Met Eireann is warning of treacherous driving conditions and extremely slippy footpaths nationwide this morning following freezing cold weather overnight.
According to the national forecaster, temperatures fell as low as -6c last night, leading to widespread hard frost and ice formation.
Weather warnings remain in place across the country until at least midday when the national weather emergency response team will decide on the next course of action.
