The President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins has been rushed to hospital, after complaining of feeling unwell.
82-yr-old Higgins felt unwell around 5pm today and was assessed by medics at Áras an Uachtaráin.
It’s believed he was taken to hospital for further tests just as a precaution at this time. It’s understood an update on the President’s condition is expected to be issued by Áras an Uachtaráin later tonight.
It’s understood the President left the Áras, in an ambulance, shortly after 5.30pm this evening after doctors assessed him at the Aras.
