500 migrants are about to be planted in the D Hotel in Drogheda this week – the same week that the much beloved Marks and Spencer store will close its door for good.

The Liberal also understands that the adjoining Marks and Spencer cafe will also shut down for good.

Staff were informed that the shop was closing with the loss of all 57 jobs from the building the same week that it was announced 500 migrants from all over the world will be planted in the D Hotel.

M&S say that the decision to close this particular shop is lack of sales compared to their other shops, however many locals are speculating on the decision.

Drogheda, one of Ireland’s largest towns, will have no hotel in the two bar a small one on the northside leaving only massive uproar at the prospect of a large number of migrants, possibly many of whom are male – perhaps even unvetted, being planted the D Hotel.
