The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) has been cleared to recruit for 26 midwifery roles and 64 staff nurse positions at the facility after negotiations with local management.
Workers at the hospital picketed last month to highlight the dire overcrowding situation at the hospital, after the ‘patients in trolleys’ situation reached crisis point.
The INMO has stated that it has received a commitment aid it has a commitment that nurses graduating in 2015 will be offered permanent posts at 100% salary.
