The family of Sean Cox have revealed that Sean will travel to the UK in order to begin the next stage of his rehabilitation.
Sean, 54, who suffered serious brain injuries following an attack outside Liverpool FC’s Anfield Stadium in April 2018, will be transferred to the UK to continue his ongoing treatment his family have confirmed.
According to RTÉ News, Mr Cox’s family revealed in a statement that Sean will travel to the North of England and will attend a neurological facility for an initial 12-week programme.
In the statement Sean’s family revealed that the programme will aim to develop his speech and movement.
The move comes as Mr Cox has undergone treatment for the last 18 months.
Mr Cox’s family also revealed that although Sean is making slow progress, it is unlikely that he will be able to walk again.
In the statement Mr Cox’s family added that they and Sean are extremely grateful for the public’s support.
