The last few days have been rather wet and dull, but relatively mild for the time of year. But that’s all about to change as a period of dry but freezing weather approaches, just in time for the weekend.
Today, Thursday, will still be wet, with outbreaks of light rain and drizzle. These will die out towards evening, giving way to a freezing night with lows of 0C or just below.
Friday is expected to be bright and sunny, but Friday night will be rather cold, with sharp, deep frost likely.
Saturday and Sunday will be calm, bright, and dry days, with daytime temperatures reaching 7-8C at best, and plummeting to below zero after dark.
