Ten-year-old Muireann DeClar had a lucky escape yesterday after suffering a severe allergic reaction to an egg thrown at her at a “No” vote event for the same sex marriage referendum.
The quick reactions of her mother probably saved Muireann’s life.
Muireann is severely allergic to eggs. After being hit, a rash quickly began to develop, and her mother had to administer adrenaline with an Anapen injector right before taking her to hospital.
It is understood that Muireann’s been discharged today.
Gardai have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
