The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said that it will take weeks to rebuild the HSE’s IT system.
Speaking about the ransomware attack, Martin said that IT experts will continue to work over the weekend in order to rectify the situation.
Although the Taoiseach said it was good the Government was given a decryption key, it will stay an enormous amount of work to rebuild the IT systems.
He added it will certainly take a number of weeks to rebuild the system and that it could see a cost of over €100 million to rectify.
Many people feel like the government should have paid the €16 million ransom in the first place.
