The situation generally here in Ireland in regards to accommodation is going to be extremely difficult, The Taoiseach Micheal Martin said.
It’s going to be extremely challenging as 20,000 people have come into the country very rapidly in a matter of a weeks, claims Martin, as an expected 200,000 are expected to come into the country over the coming weeks and months.
He said that it’s unprecedented in relation to anything we’ve experienced before due to the conflict zone and a war.
We have to move fast to go through all the pledges, not all of them have been processed or gone through and there’s some opportunities there, says Martin.
It may not be as large as anticipated but there should be some opportunities there as many houses have gotten turned down because they’re “not good enough” for Ukrainian people to live in.
