Tribute have poured in for Damian Casey, star of Tyrone Hurling, who died aged 29
Local sources in Co Tyrone said he died in a swimming pool accident in Spain.
It’s understood that he was there for a wedding that was scheduled for today.
Touted as arguably the county’s greatest hurler of all time, the man from Dungannon made his county debut in 2012.
Casey scored 14 points as he won a second Nicky Rackard Cup with the Red Hands at Croke Park in May. He also won two Lory Meagher Cups and three domestic leagues.
A double winner of the GAA/GPA Champion 15 award, he also represented Ireland in a series of brilliant international encounters against Scotland.
