Gardai say they are currently investigating an incident in which car rammed into a garda station in Monaghan yesterday evening and exploded in flames.
It is understood the bizarre incident happened approximately 6pm evening when a man rammed his car into the station, got out and set it ablaze. Gardaí thankfully no one was injured in the incident, although the exterior of the garda station has been blackened by the flames.
A Garda spokesman has said investigations are ongoing following the incident. He said: “A man in his 40s was arrested and is being detained at Carrickmacross garda station. “Gardai are currently appealing for anyone with information to come forward.”
