A 13-year-old boy has died after he drowned in a reservoir in Drogheda Co Louth.
It is believed that the young male was swimming in Rosehall reservoir with three youths at the time of the incident.
The boys body has been recovered and has been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where a post-mortem will be carried out tomorrow.
Swimming is strictly prohibited at the reservoir which is a popular fishing destination among locals. This latest incident highlights the importants of water safety, with Irish water safety saying with recent good weather more people are inclined to go for swim which can be very dangerous especially in places were it is prohibited.
