Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow warning, as 15-25mm of rainfall is expected today.
Counties Cavan, Meath, Louth and Monaghan have been deemed to be more at risk of further flooding, after weeks of incessant heavy rainfall.
The band of rain will sweep across the country from the south-west, and should clear by tomorrow morning. Drier, colder weather will follow as high pressure builds up over the west, pushing in north-westerly winds.
The dry, cold spell is expected to last a few days, and will at least provide some respite from the constant rain of the last few weeks.
