The Slieve Russell Hotel in Co Cavan has been forced to close its doors after an outbreak of the winter vomiting bug at the luxury resort.
The news comes after the HSE were informed hotel staff that both they and a number of customers were suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea. The HSE say the outbreak was caused by the norovirus infection.
The outbreak has now forced the hotel to close whilst a deep-clean of all surfaces and furnishings can be carried.
