Phil ‘The Power Taylor’ seen his dream of winning another world darts title end tonight as newcomer and star of the future Rob Cross won the World Title in London’s Alexandra Palace.
In a what was pretty one sided final the darting legend Taylor could not match the prowess of Cross who ran home a 7 sets to 2 winner.
Cross 27, who was only granted a tour card in early 2017 upset the odds by taking the crown which would have been Taylor’s Swan song on a glittering career that seen him dominate the sport.
Taylor who will officially retire tomorrow could only look on in admiration as the former electrician who was presuded to enter the sport by his uncle last year strolled home to collect what will most likely be the first of many World titles.
