Teachers are expected to be compassionate and supportive, yet one has recently been labelled “disgusting”, reports The Mirror.
A male teacher is alleged to have “made a female student wet herself” after refusing her request to use the toilet, leaving her unable to change her clothes, reports The Mirror.
The story has gained significant attention online after being shared on TikTok, with thousands reacting in shock at the claims being made, reports The Mirror.
It was circulated by Ebury, and has left many parents stunned that such behaviour could allegedly take place in schools.
This is not the first similar claim to emerge recently, with another case previously involving a male teacher who was criticised for referring to teenage girls as “pretty”.
In footage shared online, a woman explained: “A male teacher opened a packet of pads from a student’s bag, and poured them over her head in front of all the other students, which resulted in her wetting herself. Students in this school get scanned with an electronic wand before being allowed to go to the toilet. The zip on the bag where she keeps her pads had set it off. The teacher pulled out every pad from the packet and poured them on her head while others stood there and laughed. He told her to ‘get lost’, and refused access to the toilet, which resulted in her having an accident. To make it even worse, she wasn’t allowed to go home, and was made to stay in school in wet uniform”, reports The Mirror.
The woman, who posts under the name Ebury, says she campaigns for student rights, and has previously advocated for unrestricted toilet access in schools after her own daughter allegedly faced similar issues, reports The Mirror.
The most recent incident remains unverified, but it has been widely discussed online alongside other reported cases, with campaigners highlighting what they describe as concerning behaviour in some schools.
Social media users reacting to the video shared strong opinions, with many expressing anger and disbelief at the claims being made.
One user said: “Let’s be real. She didn’t have an accident. She was forced to wet herself by an adult teacher,” reports The Mirror.
Another wrote: “Absolutely disgusting.”
A third commented: “That’s disgusting. How can someone be hired to be a teacher, when they are going to do that? It’s outrageous,” reports The Mirror.
Another added: “This is beyond disgusting! I’m sick to the back teeth of these teachers who are on a power trip,” reports The Mirror.
A further comment read: “If any of this happened in the work place, there would be massive uproar and tribunals. Why are children not being given the same respect?”, reports The Mirror.
According to reports, children do not have an absolute legal right to use the toilet at any exact moment during school hours, reports The Mirror. However, schools are still required to uphold a duty of care and ensure reasonable access to facilities.
Restrictions on toilet access, or locking facilities, could potentially raise health and safety concerns or even issues under equality law if they negatively impact a child’s wellbeing, reports The Mirror.
Where pupils have medical conditions, schools are expected to make reasonable adjustments such as toilet passes or additional support.
