On this side of The Pond, RTE, the government sponsored broadcaster is ignoring the uber viral meme that is #letsgobrandon.

In-fact a quick search on the RTE website delivers ZERO results for the very popular conservative American meme.

So, for those in Ireland who are wondering what the meme stand for, let’s take a quick dive into its recent history. We’ll get to the atheists in just a moment.
The origin of the slogan dates back to a NASCAR race in Alabama in early October. Interviewing the winner — a driver named Brandon Brown — a reporter for NBC Sports referred to chants coming from the crowd.
“As you can hear the chants from the crowd,” the reporter said to Brown “‘Let’s go Brandon.”
Except that’s not what the crowd was chanting. You can listen to the original chant here; https://twitter.com/TrumpJew2/status/1444460915802484737

And that’s how #Let’sGoBrandon went viral. You’ll also sometimes see “FJB” with the meme or hashtag. I’ll leave that up to your imagination!

So, back to those atheists calling for the US tax authorities (IRS) to carry out tax inspections on a Church whose congregation were chanting the harmless Let’s go Brandon slogan.

A video was posted on Twitter claiming to show a huge crowd at Cornerstone Church chanting “Let’s Go Brandon”.

According to PJMedia, a liberal group called The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF), is demanding that the IRS investigate a San Antonio, Texas, church where speakers and participants at a “ReAwaken America” event chanted “Let’s go, Brandon,” calling it a violation of the Johnson Amendment.

“They knew what they were doing, what they were saying, and knew it was nothing but a political statement,” FFRF co-president Annie Laurie Gaylor said in a press release. “Tax exemptions are a serious public trust, a responsibility, and with that enormous benefit comes some responsibilities — including not engaging in partisan politics. No church has a right to a tax exemption, they have to follow the rules.”

It should be noted that this was not during a church service, but at an event put on by an outside group. The event in question, which was held at Cornerstone Church, was organised by Clay Clark as part of a ReAwaken America tour.
