After what has been described as a monumental election, the first preference election poll predicts an election tie.
RTE reports the results as follows:
Fine Gael 22.4
Sinn Fein 22.3
Fianna Fail 22.2
Green Party 7.9
Labour 4.6
Social Democrats 3.4
Aontu 1.8
Others 1.5
Independents 11.2
It means that it’s anyone’s guess as to what the makeup of the Dail will be. Tomorrow counting begins to form a new government.
